Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in research focused on:
- Formulating and solving optimization challenges related to the control and operation of transportation systems.
- Processing and analyzing high-fidelity datasets to develop machine learning-based surrogate models for transportation planning.
- Utilizing advanced parallel computing and cloud resources to enhance research outcomes.
Key Qualifications
Applicants must possess:
- A recent PhD in a relevant field.
- Experience in optimization problem formulation.
- Proficiency in Python programming and parallel computing.
Preferred Skills
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience in modeling and simulating transportation systems.
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Experience in analyzing spatial-temporal transportation data.
- A background in collaborative, cross-disciplinary research.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $71,300 - $117,600, based on a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week. NREL offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
