Your Responsibilities:
Our nephrologists specialize in providing care for patients with chronic kidney disease, end-stage renal disease, and hypertension. As an integral member of our healthcare team, the PA/NP will contribute significantly to team-oriented patient care by performing thorough assessments and evaluations. Key responsibilities include:
- Utilizing medical decision-making skills to establish suitable patient care plans.
- Collaborating with the medical team as necessary for effective team-based care.
- Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and expected outcomes of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients.
- Executing procedural skills in accordance with departmental or practice guidelines.
- Engaging in basic science and clinical research projects.
- Encouraged to mentor students and/or medical learners.
- Upholding the missions, values, and cultural commitments of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
- Performing other related duties as required.
The clinician operates under the regulatory mandates from their respective licensing organization, with departmental-specific credentialing from the institution.
Requirements for Physician Assistant (PA):
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; a Master's Degree is preferred.
- Current North Carolina Medical Board Medical License, certified by NCCPA.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or nephrology setting.
Requirements for Nurse Practitioner (NP):
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program; a Master's degree or higher is required.
- Current North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license.
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a primary care or nephrology environment.
