Key Responsibilities- Preventive Maintenance: Perform complex preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of our buildings and systems.
- Corrective Repair: Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
- System Monitoring: Monitor building system operations and performance to identify potential issues and take proactive measures to prevent problems.
- Trade Skills: Utilize skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks.
- Contractor Oversight: Oversee and inspect the work performed by outside contractors to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Energy Management: Develop and implement energy management strategies to reduce energy consumption and minimize operating costs.
- Lighting System Maintenance: Maintain and repair the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements.
- Specialized Tasks: Perform welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks as needed.
- Experience: 2 or more years of extensive practical experience in building services.
- Communication Skills: Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding.
- Writing Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor.
- Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.
- Financial Acumen: Basic knowledge of financial terms and principles, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Technical Skills: Aptitude for technology, including proficient skills with Microsoft Office.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of four years of related experience and/or trade school training.
- Certifications: Electrical Journeyman license, required. Universal CFC certification, preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair.
- Hours per Week: 40.
- Work Schedule: Monday through Friday.
