We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at Stantec. Key Responsibilities- Perform environmental compliance inspections and monitoring for Transportation projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Provide technical expertise on environmental compliance for construction activities and operations, including permit applications and reporting.
- Document and manage compliance data, including permit conditions, plans, and environmental laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Interpret and apply state and federal environmental laws, regulations, and best management practices to ensure compliance.
- Assist in the creation of technical documents, including permit applications, compliance reports, and summaries.
- Support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and procedures, and coordinate with HSE professionals as needed.
- 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and technical reporting, with a focus on Transportation work.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills, with attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with federal and state regulations and permitting requirements, including wetlands, natural resources, and cultural resources.
- Excellent computer skills, including MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- VA DEQ ESC/SWM Inspector certification.
- Experience with VDOT's VSMP, ESCCC, Environmental, and MS4 Programs, including the C-107 process.
This is a full-time position that requires working in an office environment, with occasional fieldwork and exposure to the elements. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
