Job Overview:

Summary:

The Evening Custodial Technician is tasked with upholding the cleanliness and orderliness of both internal and external premises in accordance with the standards and protocols established by GEODIS Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming of hallways, staircases, and office areas.
  • Dispose of waste and empty garbage receptacles.
  • Identify and report necessary repairs, including leaks and damaged structures.
  • Change air conditioning filters as required.
  • Alert management about significant repair needs or enhancements for lighting, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Manage pest control systems and apply necessary pesticides and herbicides.
  • Maintain cleanliness in offices, restrooms, and break areas.
  • Care for outdoor spaces by mowing lawns and trimming shrubs.
  • Operate a tow motor for moving materials when necessary.
  • Inspect and maintain pump houses.
  • Paint designated areas as needed.
  • Check and maintain fire extinguishers.
  • Ensure walkways and sidewalks are kept in good condition.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

For food service locations, the technician is responsible for reporting any food safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

Qualifications:

Education:

High school diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of three months of relevant experience is required.

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.

Capability to apply common sense in executing instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

Work Environment:

While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The position necessitates occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching to complete tasks. The employee may need to lift items weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying temperatures consistent with outdoor conditions is expected.
