We are excited to announce the launch of our inaugural transitional housing and reentry initiative, The Fulton Community Reentry Center. This facility will offer 140 beds of transitional housing for men who have recently been released from incarceration and are at risk of homelessness. In addition to housing, we will provide comprehensive onsite reentry services, including case management, benefits enrollment, employment assistance, health services, and support for substance use disorders. Our facility operates year-round, 24/7, including evenings and weekends, and some roles may require non-traditional hours.

We are currently seeking 26 full-time Customer Care Workers/Security personnel. This role is crucial for maintaining the safety and security of all clients, staff, visitors, and property within the facility. The position reports to the Security Manager and the Shift Supervisor when necessary.

Compensation: $24.19 per hour

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage access at the main entrance by screening all clients and visitors.
  • De-escalate crisis situations and document all interventions.
  • Respond to incidents and complete necessary reports.
  • Perform administrative and receptionist duties at the operations desk.
  • Monitor video surveillance and fire alarm systems.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all individuals and equipment.
  • Conduct routine checks of residents and the facility to identify potential hazards.
  • Assist with fire drills and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Engage with emergency services when necessary.
  • Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere within the facility.
  • Conduct searches of residents, staff, and common areas as required.
  • Participate in Safe Crisis Management training.
  • Be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and overtime.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; or two years of relevant experience.
  • Must possess a NYS Security Guard License and current 8-hour annual Certificate.
  • F02 FDNY Fire Guard License is required.
  • At least two years of experience in a residential facility, preferably with individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges.
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to ascend 120 standard stairs within 2 minutes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Sound decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm in crisis situations and manage multiple tasks under pressure.
  • Collaborative work ethic with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills for incident report documentation.
