Key Responsibilities- Lead NPD Programs: Develop and manage new product development programs, focusing on cost reduction initiatives and controls projects throughout the development and implementation cycle.
- Support System Design Engineering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Electrical and Electronic Engineering: Maintain and update electrical and electronic purchased part engineering drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Product Requirements Definition: Define product and feature requirements, effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders through the product development process.
- Controls Qualification and Compliance: Manage controls qualification and agency compliance test programs, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Software Development and Qualification: Develop, optimize, and qualify controls and supporting software for HVAC systems.
- Technical Documentation: Generate technical control specifications and provide complete documentation for hardware design.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate and facilitate team meetings, effectively working with internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Work Planning and Execution: Initiate, execute, and track work plans and activities to meet customer requirements.
- Competitive Benchmarking: Perform product controls competitive benchmarking to identify areas for improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience: 3+ years of directly related experience, with emphasis on electronic control systems and developing control box layouts, wire harness routings, and load calculation of contactors, switches, and other electrical parts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, experience working with listing agencies such as UL, ETL, and NSF, and experience with Unigraphics/NX CAD.
- Blueprint Reading and Creation: Ability to read and create blueprints and engineering drawings and plans.
- HVAC Control System Design: Knowledge of HVAC control system design and their applications.
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration control systems to identify problems with current designs and make recommendations for improving future designs.
- Electronics and Circuit Design: Knowledge of fundamentals of electronics, circuit design, electrical schematics, power electronics, motors, and variable speed drives.
- Mathematical and Statistical Analysis: Ability to effectively apply basic techniques of mathematical and statistical analysis.
- Strategy and Process Implementation: Demonstrated ability to understand strategy, support processes, and ensure implementation.
- Refrigeration Components and Theory: Basic knowledge of refrigeration components, theory of operation, and practical applications as relates to the food service and supermarket industries.
- Digital Control Systems and Electrical Schematics: Knowledge of digital control systems and electrical schematics for applied refrigeration product applications.
- Electrical Wiring and Harness Development: Ability to perform electrical wiring, develop wiring harnesses, and associated operating equipment.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal skills, ability to navigate and flourish in a global, matrixed organization, express thoughts clearly, and be an active listener and a 'team player'.
