Job Overview

Harrison Gray Search & Consulting has partnered with a leading insurance firm to fill a Commercial Lines Underwriter position. This role involves managing and expanding an assigned book of business while acquiring new clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess individual business risks, determine terms and pricing, and collaborate with agents and brokers to build and maintain productive relationships.
  • Underwrite new and renewal business by evaluating applications and making risk decisions in line with company guidelines.
  • Support product development and pricing, and engage in territory-based customer development and relationship building.
  • Participate in continuing education and assist in training.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in insurance or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of commercial lines underwriting experience or similar.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a profitable commercial lines book of business.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to interpret business and regulatory information and maintain professional interactions.
