The Opportunity:


In this role, your primary focus will be on underwriting corporate property programs, particularly for large commercial and multinational clients.

You will assess and establish the appropriate terms and conditions, considering risk-sharing arrangements.

Additionally, you will support the head of the Unit in overseeing the North American Property portfolio to ensure profitability, assist Claims in validating and optimizing claims payments, and provide expertise to both internal and external stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities of this position include:
Independently underwrite and price moderately to highly complex business in alignment with corporate, divisional, and departmental guidelines and philosophies.

Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with underwriting authority, encompassing all tasks related to information gathering, data analysis, risk assessment, pricing, and negotiations.

Review primary policy, contract, and endorsement language to ensure accuracy and compliance with guidelines.
Refer any business outside of delegated underwriting authority to the appropriate referral underwriter.
Evaluate and analyze necessary risk information.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate business records.
Assist management in evaluating the portfolio to ensure profitability.
Collaborate with Claims.
Support management as needed in fulfilling all managerial responsibilities.

Client Relationship Management:
Develop and sustain a strong market presence by formulating client and broker strategies.
Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with clients, brokers, and colleagues.
Proactively identify and analyze the needs of existing and prospective clients.
Promote the organization's capabilities and competencies externally.

Negotiation:
Independently negotiate (re)insurance contracts with clients and brokers based on delegated authority.

Peer Reviews:
Participate in peer reviews of team members' accounts.

Qualifications include:
7+ years of experience in (re)insurance, brokerage, and/or corporate risk markets.
5+ years of underwriting experience preferred.
Bachelor's Degree preferred; advanced degree is a plus.
CPCU, Are designations are desirable.
Professional designations are a plus.
Proficiency in pricing models, tools, and other risk evaluation methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage client relationships and maintain profitable partnerships.
Demonstrated negotiation skills.
Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (up to 25%).
