We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at North Carolina State University. As a key member of our Facilities Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the physical environment of our campus supports the university's mission.
Key Responsibilities- Perform skilled work in plumbing installation, repair, maintenance, and pipe fitting, as well as secondary electrical systems and equipment.
- Work on all related plumbing and piping systems, including potable water, non-potable water, domestic waste drainage systems, and more.
- Participate in quarterly on-call programs and be available to work overtime and/or alternate shifts when necessary.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems, boilers, fan turbines, pumps, and other equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
- Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- Federal and North Carolina safety policies and procedures.
- Open communication with customers and awareness of importance of critical systems/equipment operations.
- Three to five years of experience in the plumbing trade with a secondary trades set in electrical and HVAC.
- NC Plumbing license or reciprocal or local jurisdiction Journeyman Plumber Certification.
