### Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Violence Prevention Program Consultant to join our team at the California Department of Public Health. As a key member of our Injury and Violence Prevention Branch, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of effective violence prevention programs and initiatives.

### Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical assistance and support to stakeholders, including state and federal partners, to apply public health approaches and principles to injury and violence prevention.
* Coordinate and collaborate with state and local organizations to engage in the development, implementation, and sustainability of projects that advance state efforts to prevent and reduce violence.
* Support and facilitate committee and workgroup meetings, as well as strategic planning sessions with state partners.
* Provide presentations and webinars to increase coordination and raise awareness about research, emerging issues, and best practices statewide related to violence prevention activities.
* Communicate effectively with other teams across the section, branch, and department, providing content and updates as needed.
* Represent the California Department of Public Health at meetings, advisory groups, committees, and conferences.
* Assist in completing program reports and technical writing, and work with researchers to elevate and share important injury and violence prevention data.

### Requirements

* A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as public health, health education, or a related field.
* At least 2 years of experience in a related field, including experience in violence prevention, injury control, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of public health principles and practices, including experience with data analysis and interpretation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
