Position Summary
The Finance Lead, Alliance Accounting, is responsible for overseeing the financial planning, analytical processes, and reporting obligations for a designated portfolio of licensing agreements managed by the Alliance Accounting team. This role also includes providing mentorship to one direct report.

This position offers significant visibility to Senior Management, both internally and externally, and seeks a dynamic and motivated individual eager to gain extensive exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely preparation of licensor payments and related reporting and planning duties for an assigned portfolio of licensing and collaboration agreements for internal and external review by Senior Management.
  • Assist Alliance Managers in managing agreements and facilitating the delivery of obligations outlined in licensing and collaboration contracts.
  • Develop procedures and methodologies with third-party counterparts to ensure consistent tracking of licensing and collaboration agreements in line with contractual stipulations.
  • Create financial models and presentations as required by Management, Legal, and Commercial teams for contract negotiations and litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with Global Commercial Finance to formulate models for Plan/Update/LBE/LRP projections for the assigned portfolio of licensing and collaboration agreements.
  • Review licensor payments in accordance with corporate policies and submit them for approval.
  • Ensure compliance with royalty and milestone obligations related to third-party licensing and collaboration agreements, ensuring accurate recording.
  • Coordinate financial planning and analysis, tax, audit, and legal requirements associated with the assigned agreements.
  • Manage one full-time direct report, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Oversee month-end closing activities to guarantee accurate recording of global royalty income and expenses, including P&L reviews, variance analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support audit requests and participate in ad-hoc internal projects.

This role necessitates strong analytical and organizational capabilities, along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with external partners and internal support teams.

Attention to detail, independent and proactive thinking, and decision-making abilities are essential, as is the capacity to work autonomously and within a team-oriented environment while successfully leading and supervising staff.

The ability to take initiative and manage multiple priorities and deadlines is crucial. A solid understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles is required.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA is advantageous.
Minimum of 6+ years of progressive and relevant experience.
Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Familiarity with BPC and SAP (or large ERP planning systems) is a plus.
