Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer to join our Wausau office. In this role, you will work on WisDOT or other local agency roadway and bridge construction projects, with opportunities for growth and advancement as we continue to expand our transportation engineering business line in Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage construction projects for WisDOT or other local agencies, taking a leadership role in overseeing project progress and quality.
  • Establish strong relationships with WisDOT and/or local municipalities, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Conduct construction oversight and inspection, ensuring compliance with project requirements and regulations.
  • Perform materials testing and maintain comprehensive documentation, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Conduct field measurements to monitor progress and quality, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Complete construction closeout documentation, ensuring timely and accurate completion of project tasks.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Minimum of two summers of field construction inspection experience working with WisDOT, Illinois Tollway, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), or another government agency.
  • Strong knowledge of roadway and bridge construction projects, including design, construction, and inspection.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to lead and communicate effectively with project teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Experience with CADD or plan preparation for civil infrastructure projects is beneficial.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
