Job Title: Behavioral Health Counselor

Job Summary:

The Behavioral Health Counselor will provide comprehensive behavioral health services to patients, including assessments, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health and substance use disorders, with experience working with diverse populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of patient needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with specific goals, objectives, and interventions
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic services to patients and their families to address mental health and substance use disorders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address issues that may impact patients' ability to engage in care
  • Complete and follow up on referrals to community services, including advocating for patients and ensuring patient access to community agencies

Requirements:

  • Active LCSW with Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners or LPC with Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners is required
  • Master's degree in social work or master's degree in Counseling is required
  • At least one (1) year of paid post-degree experience in clinical experience providing mental health and substance use disorder services is preferred

Work Environment:

The Behavioral Health Counselor will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based setting, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Travel or Special Requirements:

Driving during the workday as well as local or out of state travel may be required to perform job duties.
