We are seeking a couple of skilled coffee shop specialists to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for Another Round's customers during morning hours.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep enthusiasm for coffee and share our commitment to fostering a community through enjoyment and a passion for quality—whether it’s a perfectly brewed coffee, a finely crafted beer, or an expertly curated board game.
As a Barista at Another Round, you will primarily work independently, with the manager available on-site. Your main responsibilities will include opening the shop, perfecting espresso shots, assisting patrons with retail purchases and game rentals, and crafting delightful beverages.
Since Another Round operates as both a coffee shop and a bar, a readiness to learn how to mix our signature cocktails and maintain knowledge of our offerings is essential. Additionally, all candidates must be at least 21 years old and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting 60-pound kegs from our backup refrigerator to the bar kegerator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Opening the shop in the morning, ensuring cleanliness and readiness of cups, setting up equipment, stocking fridges, brewing coffee, and dialing in espresso shots.
- Perfecting espresso shots.
- Preparing new cold brews and iced teas as needed and kegging cold brew when ready.
- Taking and fulfilling customer orders using the Square POS system, which may include coffee, alcoholic beverages, to-go drinks, retail items, game rentals, or combinations thereof, while processing payments accurately.
- Displaying food items in the customer display window at the start of the day and restocking as necessary.
- Taking orders with attention to specific dietary restrictions and preparing drinks according to Another Round's recipe guidelines.
- Cleaning mugs as stock diminishes and during downtime.
- Maintaining a tidy workstation free of milk, coffee grounds, and other residues.
- Addressing customer concerns directly and communicating with management as needed.
- Providing recommendations to management for improvements in efficiency and customer experience.
Qualifications:
- Prior professional barista experience is essential.
- Understanding of sanitation regulations.
- Some flexibility in work schedule is necessary; we aim to create a consistent schedule, but some adaptability will be required.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with dissatisfied customers and management.
- Willingness to learn new board games and assist customers in selecting games.
- A genuine passion for your work and a strong work ethic.
