Job Title: LPN School Nurse Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated LPN to join our team as a School Nurse. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric nursing and be able to provide excellent patient care in a school setting.

Job Summary

The LPN School Nurse will be responsible for providing health and medical services to students, including administering medication, performing respiratory assessments, and maintaining up-to-date health records. The successful candidate will also be able to communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and other agencies on school health matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform student health procedures and assist students with administration of medication
  • Perform respiratory assessment and tracheostomy care as needed
  • Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on school health matters
  • Maintain up-to-date health records on students
  • Observe students on a regular basis to detect health needs
  • Work one on one with assigned students, travel to school on bus with students, and attend all classes and activities with required equipment
  • Maintain responsibility for emergency care of assigned students
  • Advise on modification of the education program to meet health needs of individual students
  • Prepare and submit reports for the lead nurse and principal
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Practical Nursing or equivalent education/training
  • Minimum of one (1) year practical nursing or closely related experience
  • Experience in pediatric nursing preferred
  • Valid State of Georgia Practical Nurse license required
  • Valid certificates in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) required
  • Valid First Aid certificate preferred
