Overview:
This leadership role will oversee the General and Preventative Cardiology Section.
The Chief will be responsible for developing, guiding, managing, implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the clinical, administrative, educational, and research functions of the Section to ensure the efficient, timely, and high-quality delivery of patient care services.
Contributing to the mission of the Division and fostering the development of faculty, staff, and fellows will be critical to this position.
Key Responsibilities:
Position Highlights:
In collaboration with relevant stakeholders, including faculty and staff, this role will define the vision and objectives for the section.
Identify and take responsibility for cost-effective systems necessary to support the section while considering available budget and resources as well as business trends.
Establish the quality standards required for services provided and implement systems to ensure compliance with those standards.
Work alongside other cardiology specialists and cardiovascular surgeons to manage out-patient and in-patient care for patients with complex multisystem diseases in a comprehensive and effective manner.
Enhance in- and out-patient care systems and quality standards while directing patient care.
Serve as an attending physician on hospital service, demonstrating expertise in diagnosing and treating cardiac patients.
Engage in academic and clinical research opportunities and contribute to the education of medical residents and fellows.
Oversee staff development, job performance, and conduct performance evaluations.
Prepare regular performance reports.
Contribute to the education of residents, students, and staff.
Qualifications:
Candidate must possess a MD/DO degree.
Achieve or be eligible for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor.
Demonstrated managerial and/or leadership experience.
Certifications:
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Board certified in Cardiology.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
