POSITION SUMMARY:
The County of Manitowoc is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Corrections Officers. These professionals play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our correctional facility while attending to the needs of inmates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Corrections Officer, your duties will include:
1. Organizing daily activities for inmates, such as library access, work assignments, family interactions, and counseling sessions.
2. Assigning tasks to inmates and providing necessary guidance.
3. Conducting regular head counts to verify inmate presence.
4. Inspecting incoming mail for prohibited items.
5. Processing individuals entering the facility.

6. Compiling detailed reports for supervisors regarding inmate performance, disturbances, rule infractions, and any unusual incidents.


7. Maintaining accurate records of inmate identification, charges, and disturbances, along with daily logs of activities.
8. Conducting searches of inmates and vehicles, as well as performing thorough inspections of cells for contraband, including weapons and drugs.
9. Serving meals, distributing commissary items, and administering prescribed medications to inmates.
10. Mediating conflicts among inmates.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively under pressure and exercise sound judgment in various situations.
