Position Overview

This role is situated within the Division of Risk Management Supervision and acts as a pivotal technical expert in the realm of IT oversight. The incumbent will serve as a vital regional asset to facilitate the Corporation's supervisory duties.

Eligibility

This position is designated for current permanent employees of the FDIC with competitive status eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversees and executes IT examination processes, evaluates risks, and enhances the operational integrity of designated Significant Service Providers (SSP) and their affiliates.
  • Leads or engages in advanced examination efforts across various organizations, including other service providers and financial institutions, focusing on horizontal analysis, discovery reviews, cybersecurity initiatives, and special projects as required.
  • Acts as a resource by providing expert guidance and training to examiners and relevant personnel, contributing to policy development related to technical competencies.
  • Manages supervisory tasks associated with the assigned organization, which includes drafting recommendations for the Regional Director, preparing policies and correspondence for regulatory bodies, and compiling written reports that summarize analytical findings.
  • Functions as the Corporation's authority, articulating complex technical information both verbally and in writing to diverse audiences, including FDIC officials, private sector leaders, and congressional staff.
Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/CG-14 grade level or higher in the Federal service. This experience should include leading IT examinations of intricate financial institutions and regional service providers, analyzing system performance and security reports, and overseeing Central Point of Contact (CPC) duties.

Additional Information

Selected candidates will be required to report in person to an FDIC office or financial institution. A probationary or trial period may be applicable based on the appointment type.
