Position: Senior Director of Taxation

We are in search of a highly skilled professional to take on the role of Senior Director of Taxation at our headquarters. This pivotal position entails the oversight and management of the company's tax planning, compliance, and strategic initiatives. The Senior Director will ensure that our organization meets its tax obligations while optimizing our overall tax position. This leader will guide a team of tax experts, collaborate with external advisors, and partner with various departments to align tax strategies with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Tax Strategy Development:

  • Formulate and execute tax strategies aimed at minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Provide insights to senior management regarding the tax implications of business operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Stay informed on tax law changes and devise responsive strategies accordingly.

Tax Compliance Oversight:

  • Supervise the preparation and submission of all tax returns, ensuring precision and timely filing.
  • Guarantee compliance with all relevant tax regulations and reporting obligations.

Tax Accounting and Reporting Management:

  • Oversee the tax accounting process, including the preparation of tax provisions and deferred tax calculations.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of tax-related items in financial statements.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate the tax team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Risk Management Strategies:

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks through effective internal controls and policies.
  • Oversee operational transfer pricing processes to ensure smooth intercompany transactions with appropriate pricing.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Engage with other departments (e.g., Legal, Finance, Operations) to provide tax guidance and support on various projects and transactions.
  • Effectively communicate complex tax issues and strategies to non-tax professionals, including senior management and the board.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • Master's degree in accounting with a focus on Taxation is required.
  • Over 10 years of experience in tax, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong grasp of tax accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective tax strategies.
  • Experience in a similar role within a large corporation or public accounting firm.
  • International tax experience is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Onesource Tax Provision and Onesource Income Tax software, as well as SAP.
