As a Mental Health Specialist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care to patients with a range of psychiatric illnesses.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and promote a clean and safe environment
- Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information
- Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, promoting professional boundaries and respect
- Participate in patient rounds and teams to ensure comprehensive care
- Identify and report safety concerns and equipment issues to the Unit Secretary/ND
- Initiate activities that promote patient engagement and well-being
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A High School diploma or GED
- Previous experience in direct patient care, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
