Under the guidance of the Director of Dining Services, Assistant Director, or Chef, the Culinary Services Support Specialist will engage in a variety of essential tasks within the Dining Services Department. The responsibilities include:

  1. Collaborating with team members to prepare and serve meals for residents.
  2. Facilitating post-meal services, including the collection and cleaning of trays.
  3. Operating and loading dishwashing machines, along with hand washing items as necessary.
  4. Returning cleaned dishes and utensils to their designated locations.
  5. Maintaining cleanliness in work areas, including tables, cabinets, and food preparation equipment.
  6. Storing food and supplies according to established guidelines.
  7. Preparing and assembling meals for standard and modified diets as instructed.
  8. Adhering to safety, fire, and sanitation protocols.
  9. Assisting in food preparation tasks, such as salads and baked goods, while ensuring safe food handling practices.
  10. Initiating meal preparation under the supervision of the Cook or Dining Services Manager.
  11. Utilizing perception and color discrimination skills to assess food quality and readiness.
  12. Managing inventory and stocking food items for meal preparation.
  13. Conducting general cleaning of dietary, kitchen, and serving areas, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing.
  14. Following established controls and documentation to meet regulatory compliance.
