We are seeking a skilled Cook I to join our team at Iowa State University Dining. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including meats, fish, vegetables, and soups.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes and guidelines.
- Assist in the preparation of salads and desserts.
- Notify supervisor of food and supplies needed.
- Clean kitchen, kitchen utensils, and equipment; secure refrigerator and freezer.
- Maintain maximum standards of sanitation and safety.
- Ability to judge final food product for quantity and quality.
- Ability to determine the freshness and quality of raw and cooked food products.
- Knowledge of safe temperatures for serving food and storage of refrigerated and frozen storage of raw and cooked foods.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
