Role Purpose:

The primary objective of this position is to ensure exceptional standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for all children entrusted to your supervision.

As part of a collaborative team, you will create an enabling environment that fosters play, learning, and development for each child.


The ideal candidate will possess a Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare and demonstrate a solid understanding of their responsibilities, coupled with excellent communication skills at all levels.

(Candidates with Level 3 qualifications will receive a higher pay rate.)



Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement a range of activities tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of children in your care, in collaboration with fellow team members.
  • Maintain detailed records of children's development and learning journeys, sharing these insights with parents, guardians, and other significant adults in the child's life.
  • Support colleagues and contribute positively to a cohesive staff team.
  • Engage with parents and family members to foster strong relationships.
  • Participate in out-of-hours activities, including training sessions, staff meetings, parent evenings, and fundraising events.
  • Exhibit flexibility in your working practices and assist with various domestic tasks within the nursery, such as preparing snacks and cleaning equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Manager and staff to uphold the nursery's philosophy.
  • Understand and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures as directed by the Manager.
  • Document any accidents in the accident log and ensure the Manager or nursery administrator reviews the report before it is shared with parents.
  • Maintain awareness of the individual needs of all children and ensure that they are collected by an authorized individual.
  • Respect the confidentiality of all information received.
  • Prepare nursery rooms and outdoor areas for the day ahead.

Purple Willows Day Nursery is dedicated to Child Protection. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure through the DBS.
