Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Nutritionist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Nutritionist, you will be responsible for providing nutrition services to clients in various settings within a district.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient nutritional assessments and evaluations in clinic, school, and community settings

• Develop and monitor nutritional care plans and food packages

• Certify clients for participation in available public health programs

• Provide basic and secondary/high risk nutrition education

• Make referrals to programs such as Medicaid, AFDC, and SNAP benefits

Requirements:

• Must meet requirements for use of title Dietician/Nutritionist as authorized by Code of Virginia §

• Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of nutrition and dietetics and its relationship to public health and regulations/standards for the program

• Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills

• Ability to respond to public inquiry regarding the WIC program

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Dietitian

• Prior public health experience and/or experience with WIC program
