They serve as the onsite representatives of the company, coordinating employees, subcontractors, material deliveries, and workflow to maintain project timelines. Superintendents are expected to lead the project team effectively and communicate with clients and administrative staff.
Essential Qualities of a KHI Medical Superintendent
KHI Medical Superintendents must possess extensive knowledge of construction practices and experience in overseeing all phases of a construction project. This includes:
- Expertise in best construction methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
- Understanding of relevant building regulations.
- Effective communication of project plans with team members and clients.
- Management of changes in accordance with KHI Medical and healthcare facility standards.
- Providing regular updates to the KHI Medical project manager through various communication channels.
- Proficiency in online construction management tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
- Experience with Bluebeam software.
Requirements
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience as a construction superintendent.
- A minimum of 5 years in the construction trade.
- Knowledge of various construction disciplines including framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural.
- Ability to interpret plans and follow project specifications.
- Capability to evaluate changes in project scope and initiate change orders through the KHI Medical project manager.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary to achieve project goals.
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
