Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Professor of Agribusiness and Economics to join our faculty at Tennessee Tech University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the Department of Agricultural and Human Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in agribusiness, agricultural finance, and economics, including courses in finance, management, marketing, and related fields.
  • Develop and enhance curriculum to support our undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Advise students and collaborate with organizations, agencies, and schools to develop critical skill sets.
  • Obtain extramural funds to support applied research in agricultural finance, management, industrial organization, supply chains, risk management, and related fields.
  • Publish in peer-reviewed journals and outreach media.
  • Lead with exceptional pedagogy through interdisciplinary courses and projects related to areas of mutual interest, including rural economic development and sustainable agribusiness.
  • Contribute through a research and outreach program addressing crucial agricultural finance and management issues facing agriculture.
Minimum Qualifications
  • An earned Ph.D. (ABD considered) from an accredited institution in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Documented evidence of individual and/or collaborative research in ag economics or ag business, and related topics that will result in peer-reviewed and outreach publications.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the potential for excellent teaching, including online/hybrid modalities.
  • Demonstrated potential for quality scholarly activity and funding acquisition.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other academic programs, groups, stakeholders, and agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective academic and career advising.
  • Professional experience and/or certifications.
