Strawberry Harvest Specialist

As a key member of our Production Team, a Harvesting Operator is tasked with carrying out essential harvesting duties on our production farm, contributing significantly to the quality of our products and the health of our plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee various stages of the strawberry plant life cycle, ensuring timely completion of tasks such as harvesting and sanitation.
• Utilize and troubleshoot innovative agricultural technologies.
• Collaborate effectively with packaging and distribution teams, assisting with sorting, cleaning, weighing, packaging, and labeling strawberries appropriately.
• Participate in data collection and analysis to enhance our strawberry production processes.
• Report any concerns to management to maintain the health and safety of our plants and personnel.

This position is primarily hands-on, with approximately 90% of the time spent directly on the farm caring for our crops.

What We Seek in a Harvester:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Strong commitment to punctuality and attendance.
• A passion for strawberries and a desire to learn.
• Appreciation for the natural rhythms of farming, with experience in gardening considered a plus.
• Attention to detail and the ability to identify imperfections in produce.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or packaging operation is advantageous; Food Safety Certification is also beneficial.
• No prior growing experience is required, as on-the-job training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Capability to climb ladders.
• Ability to crouch or kneel.
• Capacity to reach and stretch.
• Good hand dexterity.
• Comfortable in an active, non-sedentary role for extended periods of 6 to 8 hours.
• MUST NOT have allergies to bees.

Shift & Schedule:

Thursday - Saturday, 10 am - 7 pm
