We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Cherokee County Health Department in Canton, GA. As a Public Health LPN, you will play a vital role in supporting the overall mission and vision of protecting the lives of Georgian residents.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical assistance to public health nurses and county programs, including administering medication and giving injections.
- Process patient medical intake for various programs, such as Family Planning, Women's Health, and Immunizations.
- Collect, process, and package specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring timely reception of lab results and informing clinicians of any abnormal results.
- Complete electronic charting and paper charting/forms in a timely manner, ensuring all paper forms are properly scanned into the electronic medical records.
- Maintain a clean and functional laboratory space, completing quality control on all laboratory tests to ensure compliance with CLIA regulations.
- Manage supplies and ensure timely orders are submitted when needed.
- Participate in public health events and emergency exercises, including health fairs, mass flu vaccine clinics, and emergency response events.
- Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college.
- Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- CPR certification.
- Completion of all necessary orientation and training for a Public Health LPN.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
