Art Editor

Georgia Highlands College is seeking a highly skilled Art Editor to join our team. As an Art Editor, you will work closely with faculty advisors to create the Old Red Kimono cover art, solicit art submissions, select work for inclusion in the publication, photograph artwork, create the layout, edit multiple drafts, and distribute the ORKs to all GHC locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in painting and drawing, excellent computer skills, and the ability to work independently. You will be responsible for creating the ORK cover art, soliciting and evaluating art submissions, photographing artwork, creating the layout and editing multiple drafts, organizing annual release parties, and distributing magazines to all locations.

• Create the ORK cover art
• Solicit, evaluate, and photograph art submissions
• Notify artists of the status of their submissions

• Painting/drawing ability
• Good computer skills
• Availability at least 2 afternoons per week in January and February, 3 afternoons per week in March and April
• Minimum 2.5 GPA
