At Bethany, we are committed to strengthening and preserving families. We are seeking a Post Permanency Specialist to join our team in State College, PA.
Job Summary:The Post Permanency Specialist will provide post-permanency services and education to families who have adopted or are formal kinship or legal custodial guardians. This role requires a strong understanding of adoption and foster care, as well as excellent communication and assessment skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct in-home visits and assessments to ensure the well-being of families and children.
- Complete necessary paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Connect families with community resources and supports, and advocate on their behalf.
- Provide guidance and education to adoptive families on the use of respite services and community resources.
- Facilitate and support adoptive family groups.
- Effectively present BCS services to mental health provider agencies, school staff, and other professionals.
- Attend trainings and apply newly gained knowledge in service provision.
- Participate in group clinical supervision and maintain required training hours.
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, or equivalent field of study.
- Prior work experience in adoption and foster care.
- Active or eligible for professional licensure in the state of work location.
- Demonstrated clinical and assessment skills, as well as knowledge of state, community, and agency resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work flexible hours.
