Data Center Site Lead Job Description

As a Data Center Site Lead, you will provide critical support in data center planning, management, and execution. You will represent the site for all Data Center Management functions and activities, generating and enforcing enterprise directives, processes, and procedures. Your expertise will ensure the efficient management, planning, allocation, and utilization of all data center power, space, and cooling resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and provide recommendations on changes to data centers in the Request for Change (RFC) process.
  • Create and submit unfunded requests as necessary.
  • Manage data center activities with the site and enterprise facility organizations.
  • Manage site implementation of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools.
  • Maintain and update the site Data Center Strategic Plan for government data centers.
  • Provide representation to the appropriate integration boards.
  • Assist with efforts facilitating system transition to cloud environments and downsizing of local data centers.
  • Attend milestone meetings to evaluate system level impacts.
  • Support technical exchange meetings with Acquisition Offices and system owners.
  • Analyze system level power, space, and cooling requirements.
  • Review, analyze, and comment on Change Requests that impact site PSC resources.
  • Support permit reviews.
  • Support implementation of site's Data Center Strategic Plan.
  • Manage equipment rack relocations.
  • Review site integration and applicable DC technical standards.
  • Support DC project funding requests.
  • Develop and coordinate DC requirements for all site data center project activities.
  • Support consolidated system level impacts for large scale facility renovation projects.
  • Review and comment on data center renovation designs.
  • Ensure PSC resources are optimized.
  • Support written and oral program level briefings.
  • Coordinate/respond to all Action Items that impact site data centers.
  • Utilize site and enterprise configuration management tools to analyze PSC requirements.
  • Review, provide feedback, and implement enterprise data center directives, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain site's PSC Dashboard.
  • Develop and manage site level PSC metrics and data distribution.
  • Manage and implement site level data center processes/procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree.
  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • TS/SCI w/Poly security clearance level.
  • On Customer Site location.
