Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide professional instruction to students based on an approved course syllabus, ensuring that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives. The instructor will also prepare curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the Aviation program.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of current procedures in the Aviation field.
- Comply with FAA regulations governing Part 147 schools.
- Engage students in different activities simultaneously, using effective teaching techniques.
- Apply appropriate testing and grading procedures, maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor students' use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Advise and counsel students, maintaining appropriate advisement records.
- Attend meetings as required and observe/enforce institution policies and regulations.
- Assist with student recruitment and job placement as requested by supervisor.
- Maintain professional qualifications as described by the Technical College System of Georgia Policy Manual.
The ideal candidate will possess an Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) or more years of related work experience in an educational setting or a business setting. Additionally, the candidate must be A & P certified and have 1-3 years of experience as an A & P mechanic.
Preferred Qualifications:Preference may be given to candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university and three (3) or more years of related work experience. Candidates with two (2) or more years of teaching experience in an educational setting, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and technological skills will also be considered.
