Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to enhance our team at Wignall Animal Hospital and Belvidere Veterinary Hospital. As part of our community, you will benefit from a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and skill development.

About the Role

In your capacity as a Veterinary Technician, you will significantly impact the lives of pets by delivering thorough care throughout their healthcare journey. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including:
  • Facilitating outpatient treatments and conducting laboratory tests.
  • Assisting in surgical procedures and providing support services for patient admissions and discharges.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary technician role.
  • Preferred Veterinary Technician Licensure.
  • Experience in surgical, anesthesia, and dental procedures is essential.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is preferred, or equivalent experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians in delivering quality veterinary care and advocating for pet health.
  • Support the medical team to enhance productivity and ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Participate in surgeries and procedures as per state regulations for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health and available treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate medical records with the help of practice management systems.
  • Gather health history from clients and ensure proper documentation.
  • Implement safe restraining techniques and uphold cleanliness in treatment areas.
  • Provide mentorship and support to fellow team members.
