Mymedtrust is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to provide services to the Columbia County Detention Center in Oregon.

Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team as a Correctional Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals in need, while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Comprehensive Care: Conduct psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning for patients in the medical unit, housing units, or via telepsychiatry.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Respond promptly to mental health emergencies throughout the facility, ensuring timely interventions and effective crisis management.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with the Mental Health Clinician to monitor patient status, share information, and coordinate care.
  • Medication Management: Manage psychiatric medications for patients using the MedTrust formulary, adhering to established protocols for obtaining non-formulary medications when necessary.
  • Adhere to Policies: Follow all County Policies and Procedures related to security and patient contacts, upholding the highest standards of professionalism and respect.
  • Attend Mandatory Meetings: Participate in monthly staff meetings and annual trainings via phone or in person, staying informed about important updates and developments.
Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess:

  • Licensure and Certification: Hold an active, unrestricted APRN license in the state of Oregon with Mental Health Certification.
  • Background Check: Pass a thorough background check and criminal history check, demonstrating a commitment to transparency and accountability.
  • Experience and Skills: Possess at least one year of experience, preferably in correctional settings, with a strong foundation in mental health nursing, prescribing authority in Oregon, and a valid DEA certification.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, Mymedtrust offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
