Job Summary

Columbia Community Mental Health is seeking a dedicated Community Support Specialist to provide direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with mental health needs, teaching activities of daily living, and modeling appropriate interpersonal and vocational skills. The successful candidate will be able to deal effectively with high-stress situations, handle unusual human behavior, and resolve conflicts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct client services to individuals diagnosed with serious mental illnesses and/or addiction issues
  • Teach activities of daily living, including housekeeping, cooking, personal hygiene, and personal finance
  • Model appropriate interpersonal and vocational skills
  • Deal effectively with high-stress situations, handle unusual human behavior, and resolve conflicts

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/equivalency preferred
  • At least one-year experience working with individuals with mental health needs
  • Combination of education/experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties outlined for this position may be considered
