About This Role

We are looking for a skilled Optical Communications Technician to join our team at Tennessee River cable services. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with fiber optic cables, tools, and splicing techniques, as well as proficiency with OTDR, power meters, and other testing equipment. You will also need to be able to read and interpret engineering plans and documentation, and have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables and equipment
  • Performing fiber optic splicing, termination, and testing
  • Conducting troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on fiber optic cables and equipment
  • Interpreting blueprints, schematics, and splice documentation

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Optical Communications Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of fiber optic cables, tools, and splicing techniques
  • Proficiency with OTDR, power meters, and other testing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Physical ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
