Welder I

Nidec, a global leader in motor manufacturing, seeks a skilled Welder I to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and welding generator shells, rings, and feet.

• Assemble and weld generator shells, rings, and feet
• Place stator core on mandrel and assemble shell and rings
• Guage height and tack weld together
• Assemble and weld feet to frame and core assembly
• Correct settings on welders, including speeds and feeds, and proper setup of product to be welded
• Inspect quality of material being welded to prevent rework
• Protect other employees from flash of arc
• Wear welding hood, gloves, and other protection as dictated
• Exercise good housekeeping in work area
• Observe good safety practices in performance of job
• Perform daily/weekly TPM tasks and complete checksheets
• Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Team Leader

• High School Diploma / GED Required
• Must be able to read complicated drawings, decimal dimensions on blueprints, utilize precise measuring devices, and use to perform own setups
