Overview

Key Responsibilities


Assists in the internal auditing processes of the organization, adhering to established operational and budgetary guidelines. This includes the verification of data as outlined by audit protocols, internal control assessments, risk evaluations, and exercising professional judgment.

Delivers accurate and timely audit reports to management, including suggestions for enhancements.

Collaborates directly with external audit partners to facilitate external review processes.

Investigates and addresses member inquiries on behalf of the Supervisory Committee.


Stays updated on emerging audit techniques, methodologies, and relevant laws and regulations in the financial sector by participating in training sessions, attending professional gatherings, and reviewing industry publications.

Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

Associate's degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems, along with one year of relevant experience.

Alternatively, two years of experience in financial institutions or auditing, or certification as a Certified Financial Systems Auditor (CFSA), Certification in Control Self Assessments (CCSA), or equivalent.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Or, a combination of education and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Ability to apply fundamental accounting principles and practices.

Proficient in PC applications, particularly Word and Excel.

Capable of reconciling and balancing transaction records.

Adept at analyzing and interpreting financial statements, procedural manuals, business publications, laws, and regulations.

Ability to follow directions and present ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.

Competent in documenting meeting notes and drafting business correspondence.

Ability to provide explanations or instructions and respond to inquiries in one-on-one settings.

Capable of maintaining confidentiality of sensitive data and information.

Skilled in identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions regarding root causes.

Ability to develop effective solutions to issues.

Capable of making appropriate recommendations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal controls to mitigate risks.

Able to work with large datasets and focus on details.

Proficient in prioritizing tasks, completing daily assignments, and meeting established deadlines.

Ability to create action plans and organize workload to manage competing deadlines.

Ability to work effectively under pressure.

Skilled in responding to sensitive inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively.

Capable of providing constructive feedback to peers.

Ability to interact professionally with colleagues and supervisors.

Possesses knowledge of and adheres to organizational policies and all regulations related to the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act, and OFAC.


Work Environment

Ability to work hours that may extend beyond the defined schedule when operational needs arise.

Ability to lift up to 15 lbs., with or without assistance, in compliance with ADA regulations.


Must be able to secure and maintain appropriate security clearances and access to designated facilities to perform essential responsibilities.

Must be available to work onsite a minimum of four days per week.


Must be flexible to work variable hours and schedules to conduct training and counseling sessions for employees at various locations.
