Key Responsibilities
1. Engage in courteous and friendly interactions with all customers and team members.
2. Stock, rotate, and maintain grocery items on shelves in accordance with company standards and productivity benchmarks.
3. Ensure a tidy and safe working environment to facilitate a pleasant shopping experience for customers.
4. Keep backroom inventory organized and properly accounted for.
5. Reduce product damage and loss through effective inventory management, shelf rotation, and careful handling of merchandise.
6. Assist in the unloading and verification of products upon arrival at the store.
7. Uphold sanitation standards in both the sales area and backroom.
8. Report any temperature issues to the supervisor, particularly in dairy and frozen sections.
9. Perform front-end tasks as needed to maintain a standard of minimal wait times for customers.
10. Order products for designated aisles as directed by management.
11. Carry out any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
1. Friendly and approachable demeanor.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
3. Capability to lift 40 lbs. consistently and 60 lbs. occasionally.
4. Proficient in reading and comprehending instructions and information.
5. Familiarity with grocery operations.
6. Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role.
7. Strong communication and customer service skills.
8. Physical ability to bend, kneel, stand, push/pull stock carts, and operate pallet jacks for extended periods.
