Position Summary:

As a Plastic Molding Machine Technician, you will oversee the safe and effective operation of molding machinery to create top-quality plastic products. This position requires setting up and maintaining equipment, diagnosing problems, and ensuring that production adheres to specified standards and quality benchmarks.

Key Duties:

  • Operate molding machines and associated tools.
  • Prepare machines for production, including mold installation, settings configuration, and machine startup.
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to uphold product quality and efficiency.
  • Examine products for imperfections and confirm compliance with quality standards.
  • Conduct regular quality assessments and document results.
  • Resolve any issues that could affect product integrity.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery to guarantee peak performance.
  • Troubleshoot and fix machine issues or breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance.
  • Follow production schedules and achieve production goals.
  • Maintain accurate production records and logs.
  • Work closely with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized to promote a safe working environment.
  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to management.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to boost efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide insights for enhancing processes and equipment functionality.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a plastic molding machine technician or in a related role is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with hand tools and basic machine upkeep.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work in a loud and fast-paced setting.

Work Environment:

  • Work is conducted in a manufacturing setting.
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and ear protection is mandatory.
