Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Custodial Services Supervisor, the Custodian will:

  • Perform essential custodial and housekeeping tasks across various residential facilities.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety in residence halls, directly interacting with students in their living spaces.
  • Manage the turnover of numerous rooms during peak periods, ensuring all areas are ready for new occupants.
  • Provide cleaning services to a variety of spaces, including offices, meeting rooms, event venues, and laundry facilities.
  • Handle the maintenance of stairwells and kitchens, ensuring high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Occasionally operate equipment such as forklifts, as needed.

Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to:

  • Lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and navigate multiple flights of stairs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Availability for 1st shift work, Monday through Friday.
  • Willingness to maintain cleanliness in public restrooms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service or custodial roles within high-traffic environments.
  • Proficiency in cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, and various floor types.
  • Familiarity with commercial kitchen cleaning protocols.
  • Knowledge of COVID-19 cleaning practices.
  • Experience operating forklifts.
