About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our team at GE Vernova. As a member of our world-class team, you will play a key role in the design and execution of protection and control aspects of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design custom protection and control solutions, including physical layouts, schematics, logic diagrams, wiring/interconnection, grounding, cable schedules, and other required custom control hardware for custom FACTS solutions.
  • Develop Bills of Material for all designs, ensuring consistency and quality throughout all design documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard control documentation for FACTS equipment, including protection and control systems.
  • Coordinate with offshore design resources and project team members on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.
  • Interface with internal and external team members, including principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders, and support organizations.
  • Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.
  • Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
  • Support project quality procedures and initiatives, including aspects of ISO 9001.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college; or an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 3 years of experience in the specific field of controls design.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as required, which may include remote locations and international travel, and be willing to comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical and Controls drawing experience.
  • Proficient in Standard Drafting practices.
  • Knowledge of and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, AUS, CSA, and NESC standards and codes, and ability to design packages when no clear customer specification is provided.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated creativity and ability to be accountable for team results in order to deliver a high-quality product on time and under budget.

GE Vernova offers a competitive salary range of $79,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
