POSITION SUMMARY:

The YMCA of East Tennessee is dedicated to providing outstanding service to all members, guests, and program participants. This role involves addressing member and guest inquiries, promoting memberships and programs, and ensuring the lobby area is clean and organized.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and program participants both in-person and over the phone, contributing to member retention efforts.
  • Conduct interviews and tours tailored to the needs of prospective members; actively promote and sell memberships.
  • Foster relationships with members, facilitating connections among them and with the YMCA.
  • Address and resolve membership-related concerns, while keeping supervisors informed of any unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in DAXKO operations, including membership and program registrations.
  • Utilize Daxko Engage effectively, logging member interactions and completing necessary tasks each shift.
  • Manage SmartStart scheduling proficiently.
  • Adhere to all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency and safety protocols. Complete incident and accident reports as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The individual must be capable of performing each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

No formal education requirements are necessary. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential. The ability to relate effectively to diverse groups from various social and economic backgrounds is required. Experience in multitasking is crucial.

REASONING ABILITY:


Ability to solve practical problems and address a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret various instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled forms.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate, and the individual must be able to perform effectively within this setting.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10's and 100's. Capability to perform these operations using units of American currency and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent communication is required, along with the ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers.

Vision abilities necessary for this role include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of members or employees of the organization.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, COURSES:

Completion of New Employee Orientation is required to begin work, provided by the YMCA. Additional training, licenses, and courses may be required throughout employment.
