As an Optometrist - Limited at the University of California, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality eye care services to patients. This position requires flexibility to work at various UCSF Medical Center locations, and you will be expected to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skills of optometry, including diagnosing eye diseases and varying conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide optometric examinations, including pupillary reflexes, tonometry, keratometry, and slit lamp examination.
- Deliver routine eye examinations for new and established patients, as well as follow-up exams for established medical patients in the ophthalmology practice.
- Perform eye examinations and contact lens fittings for pediatric patients.
- Triage and screen acute or unscheduled patients in ophthalmology.
- Prescribe ophthalmic medications within the scope of practice.
- Comply with all Ambulatory Services and Medical Center policies and procedures for infection control, safety, administrative, and clinical practice.
- Thorough knowledge and skills of optometry essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to this position.
- Thorough knowledge associated with diagnosing eye diseases and varying conditions.
- Thorough professional skills in delivering eye care, treatment, and diagnostic services to patients.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
