FHCSD is seeking a Per Diem Optometrist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide patients with specialty services under the direction of the Medical Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately, timely, and thoroughly complete all required documentation in accordance with department standards and electronic medical record requirements.
  • Follow FHCSD policies and procedures, including cooperating with the timely submission of credentialing and licensing paperwork, maintaining CME units, attending mandatory meetings, minimizing incident reports, and using resources efficiently.
  • Maintain FHCSD behavioral standards, including effective listening and communication skills and respectful interactions with colleagues and patients.
  • Meet a productivity expectation of 2.74 patients per hour.
  • Maintain satisfactory peer reviews by assessing medical information, including pathophysiology, patient presentation, differential diagnosis, etc., to facilitate health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Meet clinic site and organization needs in a reliable and flexible manner, prioritize work, and adhere to schedule.
  • Participate in administrative duties, including lab reports, charts, and medication refills reviewed and managed appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Board certified in the area of specialty.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Must possess a current unrestricted Physician and Surgeon license to practice in the State of California, if applicable.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
