We are seeking a skilled Housing Specialist to join our team at Services For The Underserved, Inc. in Brooklyn. The successful candidate will establish relationships with supportive housing providers, real estate brokers, and landlords to assist consumers in securing and maintaining permanent housing.
Key Responsibilities- Establish linkages with supportive housing providers, real estate brokers, and landlords to provide resources for consumers.
- Provide supportive social services, including individual and group counseling, workshops, education, referrals, and escorting to prepare consumers for successfully securing and maintaining permanent housing.
- Prepare and assist consumers with the housing application/interview process.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years in human services field and knowledge of trauma.
- Good interpersonal skill set, able to work independently and still function as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft.
- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
