Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer - Power Systems

Quanta Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work alongside a team of professional engineers and designers who specialize in power generation and transmission.

Position Summary:

The Electrical Engineer for this position will be responsible for the development of design parameters, including design concept, engineering criteria, equipment and instrumentation specifications, equipment selections, code interpretations, and analysis as it pertains to the design of power facilities.

  • Deliverable Management:
  • Conduct quality review of drawings to ensure compliance with safety-first design practices, company standards, and applicable industry codes.
  • Coordinate and communicate project-specific deliverables with team members of all disciplines.
  • Research, review, and design integration of company standards, municipality requirements, and regulatory codes as it pertains to project deliverables.
  • Perform independent QA/QC of drawing deliverables.
  • Review other discipline deliverables to ensure design is properly executed and aligns with project objectives.
  • Perform field-related work to obtain design pertinent information as needed.
  • Review and respond to project RFI's throughout project-life.
  • Review third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with intended design.
  • Experience in field site assessments.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:
  • US citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Select candidates will be required to participate in an in-person technical interview.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Extreme attention to detail, process orientation, and relentless focus on accuracy with a sense of urgency towards project objectives.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to establish priorities among project deliverables.
  • Self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to work independently or with engineering and design teams of other disciplines.
  • Ability to react promptly and efficiently shift priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written as well as presentation skills.
  • Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer (license in the State of Texas)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the following software/programs: ETAP, SKM, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in midstream energy or petrochemical sector
