Job Overview

BGE, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead our Construction Management Department in Central Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of complex roadway and highway construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a liaison between the contractor, consultant lead engineering and inspection team, and the Program Management Team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Utilize your expertise in Construction, Engineering, Inspection (CEI) to drive project success.
  • Develop and implement a Project Management Plan (PMP) to ensure timely completion and compliance with specifications.
  • Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Lead Contractor Progress Meetings and report project updates to the Program Management Team.
  • Provide regular project status reports, including costs, executed and pending change orders, and remaining contingency.
  • Review and recommend approval of pay estimates, including updates to MOH.
  • Identify potential overrun/underrun and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review and recommend final responses to RFI's.
  • Provide design oversight, sign and seal revisions to project plans as required.
  • Coordinate with the PMC team for Design Engineer services.
  • Review and approve project bid item work packages.
  • Review and sign Non Conformance Reports (NCR) upon completion.
  • Ensure SWPPP compliance.
  • Evaluate and track Value Engineering Proposals.
  • Verify contractor-proposed look-ahead schedules are realistic and followed.
  • Address construction issues that arise on site and recommend resolutions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas.
  • 5-10 years of experience in roadway/highway construction management engineering.
  • Knowledge of TxDOT specs and proficiency in Site Manager.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
