Garbage Truck Operator

We are seeking a skilled Garbage Truck Operator to join our team at J.P. Mascaro & Sons. As a municipal collection specialist, you will be responsible for operating a Roll Off truck in accordance with D.O.T. regulations and company policy.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive a truck according to established subscription routes or municipal territories, ensuring timely service to assigned customers.
- Operate the truck in compliance with local, state, and federal D.O.T. regulations, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Transport and dump municipal trash at regulated transfer stations or approved landfills, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate records, including driver's logs, route sheets, and work orders, to ensure efficient operations.
- Clean the truck cab and body daily, performing routine maintenance tasks to extend vehicle lifespan.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance malfunctions to the relevant authorities.
- You may be required to drive other vehicles if properly trained and approved, demonstrating your ability to adapt to new situations.
- Cleanliness of the truck cab is crucial, so please ensure it is tidy and organized at all times.
- In the event of an accident, traffic violation, or license suspension, notify the company immediately to maintain a safe working environment.
- A valid state commercial drivers' license (CDL Class B or equivalent) is essential for this role.
- Attention to detail is vital to prevent damage to the truck, equipment, and surrounding items, demonstrating your commitment to quality.
- You must be able to sit in the truck cab for extended periods, showcasing your ability to work independently.
- Lifting and moving 75 pounds is a requirement, highlighting your physical stamina.
- Ability to bend, stoop, get into, and out of the truck cab unassisted is necessary, emphasizing your agility.
- Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening to ensure a safe working environment.
